WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has urged House members to head back to Washington D.C. to vote on the government funding bill to end the government shutdown, which is now in its 41st day, that the Senate passed on Monday night. Warren County's Congressman Greg Landsman has this statement on the current situation...
"Twenty-two million Americans will pay so much more for healthcare because of this, including 32,000 folks in my district in Southwest Ohio. All while the vast majority of Americans – in poll after poll – have made it clear what they want: reopen the government and extend our healthcare subsidies.
I’ve heard this loud and clear from my constituents, too. They want a real bipartisan agreement to reopen the government and protect their healthcare. I assume all of us that have been fighting to protect our constituents from soaring healthcare costs will vote against this."
To be clear - It was Landsman's party that Shut Down our government- hurting people on SNAP and hurting all government workers, not to mention travelers stuck in airports.
And... speaking about Healthcare expenses.. it was Landsman's Democrat Party that created ACA, lying to the American public that healthcare would be the "same as your monthly cell phone bill" - Yeah. That was not only a lie, it has driven ALL of our healthcare costs through the roof.
So THEN the Democrats used Covid to spend even more money by creating covid ACA subsidies that the DNC said could expire December 2025. So here we are. And THEIR subsidies, using OUR earnings, are expiring, just as they designed. And NOW they are complaining?!
The answer is to bipartisanly repeal ACA and start over with a better program that actually accomplishes what you promised. DNC failed us and the answer is not to throw more money at it and increase our $37,000,000,000,000 debt.
