Sycamore Presbyterian Brings Church Bells into the Digital Age

CINCINNATI, OH- Symmes Township-based Sycamore Presbyterian Church announced today it is bringing back its Carillon Bells. The Church will dedicate the bells on Nov. 3 during the 10 a.m. service. The new bell system is digital and programmable, allowing the church to easily switch songs based upon seasons, holidays and special events.

Author Diane Lowe MacLachlan’s story The Ring of Hope in the book, Find Your Inner Strength, is about how Sycamore’s past bells brought her comfort and peace at a difficult time in her life. “The Carillon Bells provide an outreach perhaps not achievable in any other way,” MacLachlan said.

Installed by Cincinnati-based The Verdin Company, a world-renowned manufacturer of bells, clocks and towers since 1842, the inaugural song will be “Great is Thy Faithfulness”. The Carillon Bells will provide church members and the surrounding community with the joy of bell music on Sundays and throughout the week.

“The sound of pealing bells, sacred hymns, and spiritual melodies will call our church members to worship and send them out to be the people of God in action,” said Ross Reddick, Lead Pastor, Sycamore Presbyterian. “Our hope is the bells will also lift the spirits of the surrounding community and provide a source of strength and inspiration as they go about their daily routines.”
