MASON, OH -- Michael “Steel” W. Randolph, of Cook, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Cook Care Center in Cook, MN, on Sunday, January 5, 2025. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, on May 29, 1955, to Ov and Delores “Janet” (Barlow) Randolph.
In the late 70s Michael moved to Minnesota where he met Debbie Stimac. They married in 1979 and had two girls: Carrie and Ashlee. Years later he met the love of his life, Brenda Emanuel, and married in 1990.
He was a caretaker on Lake Vermillion, delivered magazines for Aramark, was an unpaid guide on Lake Vermillion, and an avid musician. Michael enjoyed landscaping, fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends, and playing steel guitar.
Michael played with many famous people. George Jones, Tim McGraw (opened for), The Kendalls, and Johnny Russell just to name a few. Through every note, Michael had the extraordinary ability to evoke deep emotions, leaving listeners with goosebumps and a profound sense of connection. His music resonated in the hearts of many, creating unforgettable moments that will forever echo in our memories.
Michael was a beloved Papa, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone around him. His loving spirit and unwavering support created a nurturing environment for his family, and his cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Michael is survived by his companion, June Randall; children, Carrie (James) Armstrong of Altoona, IA, Ashlee (Jake) Kaim of Pengilly, MN; bonus children, Angela (John) Schweiberger of Hibbing, MN, and Jamie (Kristen) Bayliss of Hibbing, MN; Brother, Greg (Robbin) Randolph of Mason, OH; grandchildren, Luciana and Mason Armstrong, Hannah and Kace Kaim; bonus grandchildren: Ethan, Ava, Adelyn, Jacksen, Stella, Gavin, and Sylas. He is preceded in death by his parents; partner, Brenda Emanuel; and bonus grandson, Myles Schweiberger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, MN. Pastor John Dietz will officiate.
Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
