MASON, OH -- On Saturday, the No Kings movement held rallies nationwide, with one being held here in Warren County in Mason and two others very close by — West Chester and Middletown, both Butler County districts. It was a coordinated day of demonstrations across the US to protest against the Trump Administration with the simple message that President Trump is not a king.
The key motivations behind the protest included:
Warren County resident Tom Calarco, a published author and does a weekly column called The Truth is Out There on substack.com, was there and has written a piece in his perspective titled The People Speak: Millions Protest the Mad King of America at the No-Kings Protests.
"Contrary to what sycophantic Speaker Mike Johnson said about 'No Kings' being 'Hate America' rallies, people were expressing love of country and protesting the true source of hatred that is coming from the Trump Administration and its supporters. It was more like the 4th of July without the firecrackers," Calarco shares in his piece.
Calarco also noted that "Joe Paul, one of the organizers of the event in Mason, which had the largest turnout of the three, probably in the neighborhood of several thousand, said, 'I’m excited by the huge turnout.' He was especially disturbed by the evil activities of ICE and added that, 'It’s time for people to do good from now on.'"
