Nature Close to Home and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Dave Woehr shares monthly naturalist stories.

LEBANON, OH -- On Monday morning I saw an immature Bald Eagle perched on a snag in the backyard. He stayed there for 15 – 20 minutes warming up in the sun after a chilly night. I think this is the first Bald Eagle I’ve seen in the City of Lebanon, and certainly the first one in my yard. I photographed him through the window from the comfort of my La-Z-Boy chair. I have occasionally seen Bald Eagles elsewhere around Warren County and several nest sites have been documented in the area.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 59 and low of 41 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Sunny for the morning, light drizzle in the afternoon, overcast in the evening, clear overnight.
