MASON, OH -- Both the Mason Police Department and the Middletown Division of Police have officers getting ready to graduate and receive Basic Peace Officer Certification and a Certificate of Completion from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy.
Graduation for the members of the 149th Basic Peace Officer Training Class will take place today (Friday January 12, 2024) in Columbus at Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy.
First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Michael R. Rankin, Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, will be the featured speaker for the ceremony and address an audience of graduates, friends, relatives and law enforcement officers. Ohio Department of Public Safety Chief of Staff Benjamin B. Suver and Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol superintendent, will provide remarks and present the certificate of training to the graduates.
Twenty-two other law enforcement agencies have officers graduating today. They are: Bay Village Police Department, Bexley Police Department, City of Fremont Police Department, Defiance Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Findlay Police Department, Fremont Police Department, Greenville Police Department, Hamilton Police Department, Lorain Police Department, Marion Police Department, Mentor Police Department, Morrow County Sheriff's Office, North College Hill Police Department, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Parks and Watercraft, Troy Police Department, Union County Sheriff's Office, Washington Court House Police Department, West Chester Police Department, Wooster Police Department and Zanesville Police Department.
